Most of the titles available from us feature english language audio, however some
movies may only ever have been produced and dubbed in another langauge. For example,
Giallo movies are usually made for the Italian market and as such ae usually found
to have Italian audio. Old Giallos are now being released with optional english
language or an English audio dub.
If a title is in a language other than english, it will usually have english
subtitles burnt in displayed at the bottom of your screen. After watchin 4-5
subtitled films you will be accustomed to watching the film and reading the
subtitles simultaneously. It really does not distract from the movie at all.
Audio will usually be in Mono, however on occassion in Dolby Stereo.
Will my movie contain any foreign subtitles?
Titles with non-english audio will usually contain english subtitles. It may also
work the opposite way, a movie with english audio may have subtitles in that of
another language. We will always state what subtitles if any are present on the
movie we are offering. All subtitles are Burnt on to the image and are not removable.
This is because most of the titles we source are from analogue sources such as
video, which do not feature removable subtitles.
What Format are your movies in? Can I play them?
As all our titles are shipped on DVD-R (as to my knowledge no factory pressed
DVD actually exists and original video tapes are almost impossible to find through
general commercial means), which means they are all Region 0. So it doesnt matter
where you are in the world, your DVD players region code doesnt matter.
Despite the region code, what does matter is the format of the disc, especially
to North American Collectors.
Movies are in either NTSC or PAL. The movies description page will always state
wether it is NTSC or PAL. There are two kinds of DVDs: NTSC DVDs and PAL DVDs.
Some players only play NTSC discs, others play PAL and NTSC discs. "UK
and European DVD players will play NTSC Discs, even it if it doesnt say so in
the box!"
All DVD players sold in PAL countries play both kinds of discs. These multi-standard
players convert NTSC to PAL . Most NTSC players can't play PAL discs. A very
small number of NTSC players (such as Apex and SMC) can convert PAL to NTSC.
So, if you have an NTSC only DVD player you will NOT be able to play a PAL disc
unless you use a standards converter box.
If I want a title that is listed as PAL Format, can you convert it to
NTSC?
Yes no problem. Be sure to put NTSC VERSION REQUIRED in the comments box on
the checkout pages and give me a few extra days to do the conversion.
Whats the Quality like on your DVD-Rs?
Every title available on the website has been given a rating between 1-10. I
have done this in order to give you a better idea of the quality of the sound
and picture before you decide to purchase the disc. 80% of the titles avaiable
from Rezracted hit the 7-9 quality range as I do not believe in offering really
bad quality transfers. However at times an extremely rare peice may come along
which does not hit the 7-9 quality rating, but I will offer to you if it is
the only print currently available anywhere.
Of my time in business I have come to realise that the term rare or hard to
find - regarding picture quality of such a film, will differ from person to
person. All the movie titles are highly watchable regardless of the size of
your TV system, however please be aware that such rare titles will not have
the same quality as you will find on a latest hollywood blockbuster movie. I
am aware that everyones opinion of what is good quality and what is bad differs
from person to person and there are many things that can influence the opinon,
for example: bad eye sight, differing viewing setup (28" widescreen or
36" widescreen can make a big difference). I have given my honest opinions
of all the titles available from here in order that you have an understanding
of what you will receive.
What do your covers look like?
All my artwork is custom designed by me using poster art, video sleeves or any
other source I am able to locate (unlike many other website who use low quality
images found on the internet. These are no good for quality artwork!). Where
art material really is non-existant I create a custom designed cover for that
movie based on imagination. I do not offer movies with "generic" covers.
The covers are printed directly from the final image source sized correctly
for amaray 14mm spine disc cases. All Prints are High Quaity 1200 DPI (Dots
per Inch) on very high quality colour laser presentation Paper. We use full
colour Laser Printers.
All my artwork is sized at 3240 x 2175 pixels @ 300 DPI. general file size
for my artwork images is between 3-5 megabytes. Generally, the higher the DPI,
the cleaner, crisper the print out (depending on source of images used for the
cover). If you visit www.covers.cc. Most of the covers there are at 100-150dpi
and between 1500 x 1000 pixels @ less than 1mb. As you can work out from my
specs above, the quality differs greatly.
There are some sites that offer artwork at a higher resolution thatn 300 which
is pointless really as the printer will print no better at 300 dpi than it would
at 2100 dpi. Not looking at them with the naked eye (which can't notice much
if any difference at a higher dpi)
Are your movies Uncut?
All titles are uncut where stated to be true in the descrition. But my knowledge
is limited and I am only human and do sometimes get it wrong. To Help you along
though all titles in the catalogue have their run times stated.Note that the
runtime of a PAL disc will be Different to that of an NTSC disc due to frame
rate differences. Usually NTSC runtimes will be 4% longer than PAL discs. For
example a PAL Disc showing a runtime of 60 minutes.. if it was encoded to NTSC,
would show a runtime of 62 mins 34 seconds.
I only pay the shipping?
The shipping cost covers more than just the actual shipping charge. Here's a
run down of what it actually covers
Actual Shipping costs including packaging supplies and handling, petrol
etc..
Materials : Case / Plastic Disc Case, Toner Ink (laser), Laser Paper, Disc
face Inks
Maintenance, repair or replacement of existing equipment (Printers, Duplicators,
etc..)
Website domain name, hosting and shopping cart software and the little things
like net connection, electric to keep things running. without this wouldnt
exist!!
Not forgetting the Bank charges and fees for accepting payments (as much
as 7% per payment!)
So as you can see it all adds up! All I do is cover costs as above (Note that
no charge is made for the actual DVD-R itself or my time. That is FREE.) I make
no profit from any of these. I have a full-time job that I do to earn my income
to pay my own bills legally. This is all just a hobby and a way to help those
wanting what they can not find - get! It really is that simple.
No Rights are given or implied in the free offering of
the material available. None of the material on this website is available
for sale. No profit is made.
