One of the most obscure horror films out there, 'satan's blade' offers a very cool premise - whomever wields the devil's knife becomes possessed and commits murder - and then just shambles along unimaginatively. This is a very lacklustre affair, with somnambulist performances and very little blood.
It starts with a lamely depicted bank heist. Two females armed with handguns commit the lacklustre robbery killing all the cashiers just for good measure. They flee with the loot to a secluded cabin in some snowy mountains. Almost as soon as they arrive there's a vicious double cross and one of the robbers ends up full of bullet holes on the bathroom floor. As the only surviving criminal begins to clear up the evidence from her brutal deed, a silhouetted figure creeps up to the dimly lighted lodge and stabs her in the back with satan's blade!
The following day, two couples and four sorority sisters arrive at the resort looking for a place to stay. The murders have been in the news and one of the holidaymakers asks if the owners have any information about the killings. They are told of an age-old legend concerning the spirit of a mountain man who haunts the local river and considers all tourists as trespassers. The group laugh off the warning as an amusing anecdote and proceed to rent out the two cabins. Of course it doesn't take long for the inevitable to happen, an unseen menace continues his bloody rampage armed only with satan's blade…
