Based on the Marvel Comics comic book, "Generation X" is the story of a bunch of teenagers who are blessed (or cursed) with superhuman powers. The kids are "mutants", and live in a world that hates and fears them for their abilities. They attend "Xavier's School for Gifted Students"- a selective and very small private school just for mutants. The kids are taught by two adult mutants: the filthy rich and morally questionable telepath, Emma Frost/"The White Queen", and Sean Cassidy/"Banshee", an Irishman who has a "sonic scream" capable of splitting steel. The villain of this story is Russell Trask an egomaniacal scientist out to use mutants to advance his schemes. When he finds out that The White Queen, an old adversary of his, is now teaching school to a bunch of mutant teenagers, he decides to kill two birds with one stone and kidnap her students to use in his experiments.

For it's time, probably the best comic adaptation made. Now this is before comics adaptations became big. It was plagued by a bad plot, a terrible time-slot and advertising that was minimal and geared only to the comic crowd. Anyone who didn't read the comic, or at least some X-Men comics and Wizard had no clue it was even related to the X-Men. They didn't even play off of Jubilee's popularity. Marvel, at the time was a different company and was pushing hard to make this movie a TV show, and get the pilot movie itself more airtime. But, at the time the TV companies wouldn't -touch- something like that (makes you wonder how Mutant X made it).

Generation X is a story about the younger mutants at Xavier school for the gifted, the ones not old enough to be X-Men. They used an alternate Mansion somewhere in the Midwest, and were lead by Banshee and the White Queen.

Note: This is the British version, before it was censored for US television, with Jubilee's swearing and other alternate dialogs intact.
