Ordering Related Questions
• Do I have to register to make an order?
Answer
Ordering from Jennyvision is very much like any other DVD business on the internet (like Amazon, Play.com etc..) where an account is needed to place an order. Creating an account takes less than 60 seconds and the information required is very limited. Once registered making future orders will be as simple as just logging in and procedding with the checkout process. On top of this you will be able to view all orders you made before, access your own wish list of DVD's you would eventually want to buy as well as Jenny Coins (My loyalty points scheme!). As if those benefits were not enough I at times will send out special Discount promo codes to you - accessbile for Jennyvision members only! You can have your account removed / deleted at any time by email request.
• How long have you been in business? Any other info about you?
Answer
Jennyvision was started by Jenny in 2006 after over 20 years collecting and dealing in rare and hard to find movies & tv series. After her lapse into a comma in 2007, Bill took over the reigns untill May 2008. I now run things (Clive) having been in this business under many operations since 2001.
• How do I order from you? Wheres the Order form?
Answer
Order forms? Order forms are so 90's! This is 21st Century baby! Full online automated ordering now on this site! To place an order, simply browse the movies via the Browse DVD's by Category links to the left of the page, adding DVD's to your basket as you go. You will see a running total of how much you are spending in the "Your Movie Basket" section located at the top right of every page. Once you have finished browsing, click on view basket / Checkout.
• Are these movies in stock all the time or will there be delays for out of stock items?
Answer
Yes, all movies on the site are available for ordering unless there is no price or no "Add to basket" button. If there is no button or price available, it means that title is nolonger available for purchase and is only listed on site for reference. Usually if a movie isnt available anymore I will give an explanation as to why. All Discs are made to order, meaning I dont have a massive stockpile of ready done movies just sitting here gathering dust. Everyone orders different movies so to actually have 5 or more of each movie wouldnt make good sense.
• Do I have to sign anything before you will accept my order like other collector sites do?
Answer
No its ok. When you created an account you were asked to accept the Jennyvision terms & conditions. By accepting this confirms you are of age to purchase these movies. Wether you actually read the terms and conditions is entirely up to you. But you are asked to read them to keep you and myself safe.

Shipping Related Questions

Multiple Discs (10+) Each Disc inside a paper sleeve labelled with the title & mailed custom wrapped.

Multiple Discs (2+) DVD-R's wrapped in bubble wrap and wrapped again in parcel paper - all securely taped up.
All Packages will have 2 labels - (a) The address / customs note label (b) the postage label.
• Im worried about Customs. How do you mark customs notes?
Answer
I mark all customs notes as gift, with "Digital media" as the contents to the value of $10.00. To date I have had no problem with any orders not getting through customs.
• When can I expect to recieve my order?
Answer
I ship orders within 48 hours after payment has been recieved (48 - 96 hours over a weekend). From this point on it really does depend on your postal service. Packages usually leave canada within 48 - 72 hours after I mail them. from then on it depends on the plane with your package, how fast your postal office sorts the mail and actually delivers it. The following I give as an approximated guide based on experience :
Within Canada : 1-3 Days
United States : 5-7 Days
United Kingdom : 7-10 Days
Rest of the World : 10 - 14 Days.
In all cases please allow at least 21 days (3 weeks) from recieving a shipping notification email for delivery. if you dont not recieve your order by the time the 3 week period is up then get in touch with me and I'll sort something out.
• What shipping method is used for my order?
Answer
All Orders are shipped via regular airmail and are automatically insured up to $100.00 per package. I do not send any orders by surface mail as I do not expect you to wait weeks on end for your order to arrive!
• Can you provide tracking?
Answer
Unfortunately Canada post (all orders are shipped from Canada) charge an absurd price for tracking. To offer tracking the only option available is using express post. The minimum outside of Canada for a package containing goods is approx $60.00. As you can imagine I doubt you would want to pay the extra!
So in a nutshell, no, no orders are shipped via trackable means, However from experience with other businesses, very few actually get lost in the mail. If your order does get lost I will replace it no problem. If it seems that you are claiming lost orders frequently I reserve the right to nolonger accept further orders from you. (as the possibility of more than 75% of your orders going missing is very slim).

Payment Related Questions
• What payment methods do you accept?
Answer
I currently am able to accept Credit & Debit payments and Bank funded payments through AlertPay.Direct online creditcard processing through this website securely using 256 bit encryption will be possible very soon - in fact in coming weeks. Once it is available I shall update this page. Telephone ordering and card processing will also be available very soon.
I also accept cash, cheque and money order payments. All mail in payments should be made payable in US Dollars (unless you live in Canada then Canadian Dollars would be fine). Full Payment information will be given to you soon after clicking the final button in the Checkout process.
• If I send a mail in payment, how will I know you got it?
Answer
Once your payment arrives I will update your order status of which you will recieve an email telling you such. Please dont think Im here to be ripping you off! I certainly wouldnt go to all the trouble of building this website, updating with new DVD-R's and everything else I do - just to rip someone off for a $20. It just is not worth it. My reputation and the quality service I offer means alot more to me than a few bucks!
• I made a payment but my order status still says Pending. Why?
Answer
The order status is updated manually by myself on a daily basis. In the morning I check all orders from the previous day and look to see if payment has been made. If it has, the status will be updated. If yours has not been updated, dont worry it will be shortly! Generally the order status is updated throughout the day, so keep an eye on it.

DVD Related Questions
• Do you have artwork covers for your DVD-R's?
Answer
Yes! 95% of the DVD-R's offered on my website have full artwork available for them. If not, you will be told so when viewing more information about each title. Artwork is usually custom designed by myself at 200 - 300 dpi using a wide variety of source materials. All Artwork is laser printed at 600 dpi and hand cropped with a sharper than sharp razor-knife by myself. You can be sure each artwork will be clear and sharp and printed on high quality laser paper. (I have been told of experiences from auction sites and other dealers, of people recieving poor inkjet printed sleeves on plain paper.. You wont get that from Jennyvision! - Quality all arround!)
• Will the Disc have nice printed face or labels or anything?
Answer
To be honest I have been in this business for over 8 years. I have sent orders to places all over the world and feedback has taught me in the past - not to used sticky CD labels as they can heat up whilst in the DVD player thus causing it to peel off and possibly damage your player. I dont have the facility to offer full colour disc face printing at the moment, but I am looking into it.. Your Disc(s) will be clear silver (with no logo / brand markings).
• DVD-R Case Packaging.
Answer
I use only the very best high quality official Amaray cases. I dont buy the cheap ones that are offered in Dollar stores or low budget bulk ones. They seem to be flimsy, crack easy and the outer plastic sleeve rips off easily. I use pure quality clear seethrough amaray cases. No expense is spared here. Value for money with quality unmatched!
• Will your discs play on my DVD-R Player?
Answer
None of the DVD-R's available at Jennyvision have region codes and all of them are NTSC. This means they are playable worldwide on any player anywhere. The discs will play on both NTSC and PAL DVD players. However despite this, the brand and age of your DVD player does seemingly effect what will and will not play. Higher end, more expensive players from the likes of Sony seem to be fussy about playing DVD-R Discs, where as the low budget players you can buy from $20+ seem to play anything and everything thrown at it..
UK & European PAL Playing Customers: Even though your player will most likely be PAL. All PAL players WILL play NTSC formatted discs with NO problems.. even if it doesnt say so on the box.. This is standard! so have no worrys about them not playing if your have a PAL Player. NTSC (North american) players.. You have no worrys either!
• Are your Discs DVD or DVD-R? whats the Difference?
Answer
The DVD's offered on this website are recorded on DVD-R (4.7GB) discs. The maximum playtime is dependent on the compression ratio. Some items like cartoons compress very well allowing for many hours on a single disk without a noticeable loss in quality. Many titles are analog to digital conversion. Any apparent limitations are inherent in the original analog source material which is the finest we have been able to locate.
Most of you will already know this by now. but for those that don't here's a brief explanation. DVD-R stands for Digital Versatile/Video Disc, DVD-R stands for DVD-R Recordable. If you're familiar with regular audio/music CDs or regular DVD Video discs, then you will know what a recordable DVD-R looks like. A recordable DVD-R stores up to 2 hours of very good quality DVD-R-Video, including subtitles, chapter breaks, and extra features that can be played by many standalone DVD-R Players and most computer DVD-ROMs. We ask that you check the compatibility of your player before buying. A comprehensive and excellent source for doing so can be found here.
• Do they contain Menu's Chapters, Audio Options & Extras?
Answer
Basically put, some do and some dont. Check the DVD-R's description carefuly for more information. Any Menu, extras information will be listed there.
• Whats the Quality like on your DVD-Rs?
Answer
Generally the quality of the discs is the best you will find anywhere! DVD-R titles listed on this site are from a collection of the best and most difficult to find cinematic rarities I hope you will enjoy them as much as I do. All titles are transferred from extremely rare sources (i.e. old TV broadcasts, film to video transfers, foreign imports) that have never been released to the North American public. No rights are given or implied for all titles I make available to you. Please be aware that I strive to find the best available picture and audio quality possible for all my titles, but for extremely hard to obtain items (i.e. those never released in anything) the quality may not be absolutely perfect.
I had a lot trouble coming up with a rating system for DVD-R quality. After all quality can be judged by many things, and what I think are important qualities might vary from yours. Add to that that everyone has their own system and merchants have such a strong motive to be lenient in their assessments, that if I went with honesty my items would appear to suffer in comparison. In the end I went with the classic 1 to 10 scale, with 10 being a competently made commercial DVD and 1 being completely unwatchable on any level. Mostly I am keying on sharpness of image, amount of visual background noise, correctness of color and stability of picture. I am not an expert on sound quality at all. There I just look for tinny sound and broken sound. I don't sell DVDs that exhibit either of these defects. As a reference: Below a rating of 6, I would consider the picture degraded below the point it can be watched enjoyably regardless of rarity.

Jennyvision Policies
• Orders Lost / Damaged in the Mail
Answer
I will replace an order than has gone missing or has been damaged in the mail with no questions asked. I will not replace a lost / damaged order with different titles as originally ordered. If it seems that a you are reporting lost / damaged orders too frequently I reserve the right not to accept further orders from you.
• Returns & Refunds
Answer
Due to the ease of copying, the DVD-R's are not refundable. However, I do offer replacement products in exchange for items that are damaged in transit. Please make sure that the problem is not a compatibility issue with your player. You can use the returns form on the bottom of your invoice sheet (enclosed with all orders) to send back damaged items. Return postage is not provided or refunded. If you are unsure of your player, you can check out known compatibility issues here. If you are new to the world of DVD-Rs and would like a cheap amazingly compliant player, Wal-Mart sells the Apex 1225 for less than $50. Most versions of XBox and PS2 are fairly stable players as well.
