The History of Jennyvision

How, why and who started Jennyvision and where its at now.

Jennyvision is the realisation of knowledgeable woman by the name of Jenny who unfortunately passed away after 6 months in a Coma in 2008. Jenny had been locating and selling hard to find movies at Conventions for almost 20 years and was on eBay since 1995. Her love of movies went far back into her childhood and has worked for years to track down the best quality versions of some of the rarest, hardest to find movies and TV shows. Jenny was diagnosed with MS which resulted in her Coma in 2007. During Jenny's time in a Coma her good friend Bill ran Jennyvision untill it came to the point where he could nolonger continue due to his own personal health issues.

In May 2008, Jennyvision was sold to myself (Clive) a private collector of Horror & cult movies. I felt that all the work that Jenny and Bill had put into the site and the service over the years should not be wasted and the site shouldnt just be "closed down". It should live on continuing to offer rare movies and quality unreleased on DVD TV Shows with a customer service second to none. I have been dealing in rare movies since 2001 with various operations on the net that are still in operation now. During the last 7 years I have aquired and developed vast knowledge and skills which help me to give the Quality that collectors such as yourself deserve. What you will find

DVDs of TV Shows and Films that have never been released on DVD in the US or Canada.
Movies and Television shows believed to be in the Public Domain or covered by the Berne Act.

What you will not find

Movies or TV Shows that are available for sale on DVD in the US or Canada.
Movies that are currently in the theatre or waiting to be released on DVD.
TV Shows that aired within the last five years.
Copies of DVDs that were released for US sale that are now only available from collectors.

The Gray Area (these I think about on a case by case basis)

Copies of DVDs released in the US or Canada over ten years ago and I can't find for sale anywhere. (Technically known as Out of Print)
Copies of DVDs released and immediately recalled.

There is unfortunately no central or official registry of public and private domain films, which combined with the thirty or so additions, extensions and modifications of the definition of Public Domain over the last forty years makes it very difficult to nearly impossible to be sure of what is or isn't Public Domain. Also the DMCA has muddied the waters of what exactly falls under the Berne Act nowadays as well. If I'm wrong and you are officially involved with a title, and wish it removed from my site, again please email me and we will swiftly remove it.

We don't ever want to be selling titles that are commercially available. Our goal is to make it possible to watch and own movies and TV shows that otherwise would be impossible. But we never want to be taking potential sales from a company officially selling something. However, sometimes titles come out with little or no fanfare and we appreciate it when you bring it to our attention. We figure you don't want to buying something that you could be getting from a store either. If you see a movie or TV show on this site that is now available for sale officially or there is a Pending DVD release, please let me know.
